Janna Ugone & Co, maker of handmade fine lighting and home decor since 1987, will be ceasing production at the end of 2024. We will be receiving online orders only until December 31st and will continue to ship orders until our doors close at the end of April 2025.  

Prompting this momentous decision is an untenable and unforeseen rent increase.  After much consideration, relocating is not an option for a studio of our scale with multiple departments and equipment. 

Closing will be difficult for me and my incredibly loyal and talented staff who have been an integral part of the studio, some for over 20 years. It’s also a sad goodbye to you, our loyal customers, both local and around the world, many who have become dear friends.  You've all shown endearing and enthusiastic support for our quintessential American company for over 38 years. We are grateful for this very special community and our wonderful years together. We've had a great run!

In her most recent projects, Ugone designed and produced the sconces and pendant lights for the newly renovated Iron Horse venue in Northampton, MA; she was also a co-producer (with Piper Foreso) of Storyscape, a public sculpture in Easthampton, MA commemorating the volunteers of the arts. Her next explorative chapter may include more public art, custom and one of a kind lighting, fine painting, teaching or consulting. Ugone said, “I look forward to exciting ideas that have been percolating for a long time.”
